Instruments to strengthen the 3S climate services of forest and wood (3S project)
Overview
The aim of this project is to propose environmental policy instruments that strengthen the climate services of the "forest and wood" system. The 3S are defined as CO2 sequestration in the forest (including subsequent C storage in living biomass, deadwood, litter (litter layer) and soil), carbon storage in wood products and material and energy substitution. First, we define the environmental problem and the potential of the 3S for solving the problem. Then we define the target groups who could contribute to solving the problem. The instruments can start target either the "forest" or "wood" and are intended to create incentives for a change in behaviour, for example by promoting certain activities or by compensating for services rendered.
